Video Testimonial Software Full Comparison (Features & Pricing)
Sep 30, 2026Video testimonials are the highest form of social proof you can gather from past clients, for your website, your sales pages and your socials. Most people struggle to get them in the first place, let alone make them look and sound professional.
I compare four popular video testimonial software platforms on features and pricing, and explain what each one is actually designed to do. The video was made in partnership with Riverside, one of the four, which I use across my business.
Key Takeaways
- Video testimonial tools fall into three types: tools for collecting testimonials, tools for displaying them, and tools for recording them in studio quality.
- Testimonial.to is a display tool, while Vocal Video and VideoAsk are collection tools.
- Riverside is a recording tool, and the one to choose if you want the highest-quality video testimonials.
The 3 Types of Video Testimonial Software
- Collect: tools that make it easy for clients to send you a testimonial.
- Display: tools that show testimonials well on your website and sales pages.
- Record: tools that capture studio-quality audio and video.
It's all about the output you want. I compare pricing on the yearly plans, which usually give you the best price. All prices are as they were at the time of recording.
Testimonial.to: Best for Displaying Testimonials
Testimonial.to is all about capturing, measuring and showcasing what it calls customer love. It's really a display tool, built around a "wall of love" of testimonials on your home page or sales pages.
Testimonial.to Pricing
There are Free, Starter, Ultimate and Ultimate Plus plans. The free plan gives you two video testimonials and 10 text testimonials. If you have a few more to gather, Starter was $25 a month. If you're gathering testimonials at scale from a large audience, Ultimate might suit you.
How Testimonial.to Works
- Add your branding to a request page and send the link to a client.
- They record a video or write a text testimonial.
- Each one is added to your wall of love.
- Embed the whole wall or single testimonials on your website, using the walkthrough to grab the embed code.
If you're gathering testimonials at scale and want to show them off, Testimonial.to could be for you.
Vocal Video: Best for Collecting Testimonials
Vocal Video is also built specifically for testimonials, but it puts the process into a logical sequence for you, with lots of templates.
Vocal Video Pricing
There's a free-forever plan, limited in how many testimonials you can gather, then Essentials, Pro, Scale and Enterprise. Pro is the most popular. Work out how many people you'll be asking first, because each plan limits what you can do.
How Vocal Video Works
I set up a free account, added my branding and built a four-step flow from a template in a few minutes. You send the link to past clients, they answer your questions in a carousel format, and at any point they can open the video recorder and record their testimonial. They can work through it in their own time and record whenever they're ready.
VideoAsk: A Flexible Collection Tool
If you've used Typeform, VideoAsk will feel familiar. It's from Typeform, but instead of a written form, you ask your questions by video. The sign-up itself shows you how it works, which is a great onboarding experience.
VideoAsk Pricing
There's a free Starter plan, then Growth at £18 and Brand at £30 a month. Those are UK prices, as I'm in the UK.
How VideoAsk Works
VideoAsk does far more than testimonials. Scroll to the bottom of the templates and you'll find a testimonial template with a neat flow for capturing them. It's a high-end way to collect video testimonials, but testimonials are only one small part of what it's built for: collecting information.
Riverside: Best for Recording Quality
Riverside is the platform I use for a lot of things across my business, and I've gathered testimonials with it. It also handles podcasts, interviews, webinars, live streams, social clips, video marketing and transcription.
Riverside Pricing
There's a 14-day free trial, then Pro, Growth and Webinar plans at $24, $34 and $79 a month. Which one you need depends on what you're using it for.
How I Record a Video Testimonial in Riverside
- Click Plan recording, call it "Testimonial", and set the date and time.
- Copy the invite link and add it to a calendar invite or email it to your client.
- They join the call with you, and you record the conversation.
To record straight away, click Record, choose your camera and microphone, and join the studio. I'd wear headphones when recording.
The beauty of Riverside is that it records locally on each person's computer at the highest possible audio and video quality, then uploads to the cloud afterwards. If your Wi-Fi wobbles during the call, it won't affect the edit. I explain more in my Riverside guide.
Editing Testimonials in Riverside
- Separate tracks: download each person's track, or all of them, or edit in the browser.
- AI tools: remove pauses, filler words and fluff; Magic Audio and smart mute; smart layouts, AI colour correction, eye contact and video enhancement; and B-roll generation.
- Text-based editing: highlight and edit the transcript, and the video changes with it.
- Layouts: switch from 16:9 to 9:16 for socials, and choose speaker views, because every feed is recorded separately.
- Export and clips: export in up to 4K, or ask Co-Creator to make Magic Clips, a set of shorts and reels for social media.
More on the editing side in the Riverside text editor. I also compare Riverside for webinars in the best webinar recording software.
Which Video Testimonial Software Should You Choose?
- Testimonial.to: display, with a wall of love and embeddable widgets.
- Vocal Video: collection, with templates and a simple step-by-step flow.
- VideoAsk: collection, as part of a wider video form tool.
- Riverside: recording, for the highest-quality testimonials and editing.
Once you have your testimonials, put them where they'll do the most good, like your sales page. Here's how to create a sales page in Kajabi.
Conclusion
Work out what you need first: collecting, displaying or recording. That decides which video testimonial software is right for you.
If you want the highest-quality video testimonials, Riverside is the way to go. I also use it for webinars, live recordings and longer interviews.
