Kajabi Cart: New Function to Enhance User Experience

kajabi: getting started Oct 17, 2025

I'm going to show you how to leverage the Kajabi cart feature to increase your average order value when selling multiple products. This functionality isn't enabled by default, so you'll need to manually activate it and configure your offers appropriately.

The cart feature makes the most sense if you're selling multiple lower-priced items that customers might want to bundle together before checkout. If you're only offering one or two high-ticket products, the cart might not be necessary for your business model.

Key Takeaways

  • The Kajabi cart must be manually enabled in your website settings and isn't turned on by default
  • You need to change each offer's call-to-action from direct enrollment to "add to cart" functionality
  • The cart works best for businesses selling multiple lower-priced products that customers can bundle together

Understanding the Kajabi Cart Feature

To access the Kajabi cart, I navigate to my live Kajabi account by going to website, then into design, and clicking on customize page. This assumes you don't have the Kajabi cart implemented within your account yet since it's a manual process you have to complete.

If you want to do this across your website pages, click on header where you'll find a toggle that says enable cart. That's the first step you need to take.

However, I would only enable cart on your website if it's the right strategy for you. For example, if you have a lot of small ticket items that you want people to be able to bundle and add to cart before they check out and purchase, it might be a good strategy. If you have one or two high ticket items that you're selling on a video or a sales call, it might not be worthwhile adding a shopping cart.

Steps to Enable the Cart:

  1. Click the enable cart toggle in your header settings
  2. Click save
  3. The cart symbol should appear on the right hand side of your header

Once enabled, you should see a little cart symbol in your header. That's going to allow adding elements to cart.

Next, I go to my store to make items addable to cart. Currently, items might show "enroll now" which takes people through to a sales page. You need to change the call to action.

Configuring Individual Products:

  • Click on the call to action button for the product
  • Change the card action to "add to cart" (instead of linking to a sales page)
  • Select the offer that they're going to add to cart
  • Change the button text from "enroll now" to "add to cart"
  • Save all changes

If you want to add other items available to be added to the cart, you can do that in your store or on individual landing pages. Navigate to these landing pages or sales pages and then click add to cart.

The strategy here is that if you have a lot of items people can just click add to cart, it makes it easier for people navigating around your website and then adding things to cart so they can check out in one go.

When somebody lands on a store page, they can browse products and click add to cart. When they do this, the cart icon at the top right updates from an empty cart to showing the number of items added. People can continue to browse your website, adding extra elements to their checkout.

If you have a lot of low ticket items or templates or something like that, it's easy for them to add to cart. When they click on cart, they can review their shopping cart, delete or add items, then continue to checkout and purchase through the portal.

Steps in Review:

Step

Action

1

Go to your website pages or website theme and toggle on the cart functionality

2

Go to each offer (whether in your store page or any separate landing page) and link up add to cart as a call to action

3

Change the terminology in the call to action button to say "add to cart"

People navigating around your website will know what they want to buy and know how to add it to cart, then check out and purchase.

Strategic Use Cases for Enabling Cart

Bundling Low-Ticket Products

The cart feature works best when you have multiple small ticket items that customers can bundle together before checkout. This makes it easier for people to navigate around your website and add things to their cart so they can purchase everything at once.

If you offer templates or similar low-priced products, the cart functionality allows customers to continue browsing your website and add extra elements to their checkout. They can review their shopping cart, delete or add items, and then proceed to purchase through the checkout portal.

The key advantage is that customers can click add to cart on multiple items as they browse, with the cart icon in the header showing the number of items they've added. This streamlines the purchasing process for customers who want to buy several products.

When to Avoid Cart Implementation

The cart feature is not the right strategy for every business model. If you have one or two high ticket items that you're selling through a video or sales call, it might not be worthwhile adding shopping cart functionality.

The cart is designed for scenarios where customers are selecting from multiple options and bundling their purchases. When your business focuses on individual high-value sales, implementing the cart adds unnecessary complexity without providing meaningful benefits.

You need to evaluate whether the cart aligns with your specific sales strategy before enabling it. The feature requires manual implementation across your website pages, so you should be certain it serves your business model before taking the time to set it up.

Step-By-Step Cart Activation Process

Accessing Website Settings

I'm in my live Kajabi account to show you how to access the cart functionality. I've gone to website and then into the design section.

I'm going to click on customize page. This assumes you don't have the Kajabi cart implemented within your Kajabi account yet because it's a manual process you have to complete.

Once you're in the website pages, click on header. You'll see a toggle option that says enable cart.

Toggling Cart Visibility

Before enabling the cart, I need to mention this feature should only be activated if it aligns with your business strategy. If you have a lot of small ticket items that you want people to bundle and add to cart before they check out and purchase, then it might be a good strategy for you. If you have one or two high ticket items that you're selling on a video or a sales call, then it might not be worthwhile adding a shopping cart.

To enable the cart, use the toggle and then click save. Within your header, you should see it come up on the right-hand side.

I'm going to refresh the page if it doesn't appear right away. You should see a little cart symbol in your header.

Now I need to configure individual products to work with the cart. I'm going to my store where items are currently set to enroll now, which takes customers through to a sales page.

You need to change the call to action for each product. Here are the three required steps:

  1. Click on the call to action button and cancel the sales page redirect
  2. Change the card action to add to cart
  3. Select the specific offer that they're going to add to cart
  4. Change the button text from enroll now to add to cart

Then save all of these changes. If you want to add other items available to be added to the cart, you can do that in your store or navigate to individual landing pages or sales pages and set them to add to cart.

Saving and Previewing Changes

I'm going to click preview and go through this as an example to show you the customer experience.

When somebody lands on my store page, they can either click enroll on certain products or go straight to items with add to cart functionality. If you look at the top right, the cart icon changes from empty to showing a number when items are added.

People can continue to browse your website, adding extra elements to their checkout. Once they click on the cart icon, they can review their shopping cart. They can either delete or add items from this view.

Then they click continue to check out and purchase through the checkout portal.

Here are the steps in review:

  • Go to your website pages or website theme and toggle on the cart functionality
  • Go to each offer in your store page or any separate landing page and link up add to cart as a call to action
  • Change the terminology in that call to action button to say add to cart

People navigating around your website will know what they want to buy, how to add it to cart, and how to check out and purchase.

Customizing Offers for Add to Cart Actions

Updating Call to Action Buttons

You need to change the call to action for each product you want to make available for the cart. Currently, products might display "enroll now" which takes visitors through to a sales page. Instead of linking to a sales page, you need to change the call to action to "add to cart."

This involves clicking on the call to action button for each product and selecting the cart action option. Without this change, the product will continue directing people to separate sales pages rather than allowing them to add items to their cart.

Linking Products Correctly

After changing the call to action, you must select the specific offer that customers will add to their cart. This step ensures the correct product gets linked to the add to cart function.

You can configure products to be cart-enabled in multiple locations. Options include your store page or individual landing pages and sales pages. Navigate to these pages and set up the add to cart functionality for each product you want customers to be able to add to their cart.

If you have multiple items available for purchase, this strategy makes it easier for people to browse your website and add various products before checking out in one transaction.

Optimizing Button Labels

The final step requires updating the button text itself. Change the terminology from "enroll now" to "add to cart" so visitors clearly understand what action the button performs.

This label change helps people navigating your website know exactly how to add products to their cart. Clear button labels eliminate confusion about the purchasing process and guide customers through adding items before they check out and complete their purchase.

Improving the Shopping Experience for Users

I'm going to show you how to access the Kajabi cart in your live account. Navigate to website and then into the design section. Click on customize page, then click on header where you'll find a toggle that says enable cart.

Before enabling the cart, consider if it's the right strategy for you. If you have a lot of small ticket items that you want people to bundle and add to cart before they check out and purchase, then it might be a good strategy. If you have one or two high ticket items that you're selling on a video or a sales call, then it might not be worthwhile adding a shopping cart.

To enable the cart, use the toggle and click save. Within your header, you should see a little cart symbol appear on the right hand side.

Changing Your Call to Action Buttons

Once the cart is enabled, you need to change the call to action on your store items. If your items currently show enroll now and take people through to a sales page, you need to change that. Click on the call to action button and select add to cart instead. Then you need to select the offer that they're going to add to cart. Finally, change the button text from enroll now to add to cart.

You can add other items to be available for the cart on your store page or on individual landing pages. Navigate to these landing pages or sales pages and set them to add to cart.

How the Cart Works for Customers

When somebody lands on your store page, they can browse and click add to cart on items they want. The cart icon at the top right will update from empty to showing the number of items added. People can continue to browse your website, adding extra elements to their checkout.

When they click on the cart, they can review their shopping cart. They can either delete or add items there, then continue to checkout and purchase through that portal.

Steps in Review

  1. Go to your website pages or website theme and toggle on the cart functionality
  2. Go to each offer whether it be in your store page or any separate landing page and link up that add to cart as a call to action
  3. Change the terminology in that call to action button to say add to cart

This makes it easier for people navigating around your website. They know what they want to buy, know how to add it to cart, and then check out and purchase.

Maximizing Average Order Value With Multiple Products

The Kajabi cart works best when you're selling multiple products and want to increase the average order value to your customers. If you have a lot of small ticket items that you want people to bundle and add to cart before they check out and purchase, then the cart might be a good strategy for you. However, if you have one or two high ticket items that you're selling on a video or a sales call, it might not be worthwhile adding a shopping cart.

To access the Kajabi cart, I go to website and then into design. I click on customize page, then click on header where there's a toggle that says enable cart. Once I toggle that on and click save, a cart symbol appears in the header on the right hand side.

After enabling the cart, I need to configure my offers to work with it. I go to my store and change the call to action for each item I want to make available. Currently, items may be set to enroll now which takes people to a sales page. I need to cancel that and change the call to action to add to cart. Then I select the offer that they're going to add to cart and change the button text from enroll now to add to cart.

I can add items to be cart-enabled either from the store page or on individual landing pages and sales pages. The strategy here is that if I have a lot of items that people can click add to cart, it makes it easier for people navigating around my website. They can add things to cart and check out in one transaction.

When somebody lands on my store page, they can browse and click add to cart on any item. The cart icon in the top right updates from empty to showing the number of items added. People can continue browsing and adding extra elements to their checkout. This works particularly well if I have a lot of low ticket items or templates.

Once they click on the cart icon, they can review their shopping cart. They can delete or add items here, then continue to checkout where they can purchase through the portal.

Steps to enable the cart:

  1. Go to website pages or website theme and toggle on the cart functionality
  2. Go to each offer whether in the store page or any separate landing page and link up add to cart as a call to action
  3. Change the terminology in the call to action button to say add to cart

People navigating around my website then know what they want to buy and know how to add it to cart before checking out and purchasing.
